Faces of Slow Lake Street: ROXANA
“Walking on the street is nice. I am a nanny and I bring my babies on Lake. It’s very funny, good. The street is nice.”
ROXANA (walking with a stroller and three children she takes care of)

Faces of Slow Lake Street: DENNIS GUTMANN
“I enjoy the street without vehicular traffic and I really like seeing all the neighbors out with strollers and bicyclists and kids playing ball so to me it’s just a great project and I hope it continues. I live a few doors off Lake at 11th. I retired about a year ago. I worked in the Botanical Garden and so now I walk almost daily so it’s been perfect timing for me. I guess having fellow walkers out here, along the lanes it just feels special being out in the street with the neighbors. I really enjoy it.
I assumed it was permanent and having heard that it’s not it would be a real shame to go back and have traffic on Lake Street. It would be a real shame.”
